What this tool is

This calculator is a live demonstration tool used during an energy consultation. It shows estimated costs and savings based on the numbers entered during the conversation.

Calculator inputs

The rates, usage figures, and payments you see on screen live in your browser for the duration of the session. They are not saved to a database, not tied to an account, and they disappear when the page is closed.

Uploaded utility bills

When a bill photo or PDF is uploaded through “Scan a bill,” it is sent to our server and forwarded to Anthropic’s API, where an AI model reads the printed figures (utility name, rates, kilowatt-hours, bill amount). The extracted numbers are returned for review before anything is applied.

This application does not store the uploaded file or the extracted data — neither is written to a database or kept after the request completes. The upload is processed by Anthropic under their commercial terms, which do not use submitted data to train models.

Bills contain personal information (name, address, account number). Only the printed figures listed above are extracted; if you prefer, you can always skip the upload and type the numbers in manually.

Tracking

No analytics, advertising trackers, or marketing cookies run on this tool. Standard web-server logs (IP address, timestamp) are kept by our hosting provider for security and operations.
